February 27th School (Saharawi refugee camps), Oct 13, 2011 (SPS) - “The Saharawi people will remain adhere to the option of resistance and struggle in order to recover their legitimate rights,” reaffirmed Wednesday Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, president of the Republic and secretary general of the Polisario Front, reiterating readiness of the Polisario Front to constructively cooperate with the efforts of the UN secretary general and his personal envoy.
Concluding the commemoration of the National unity Day, the President Mohamed Abdelaziz underlined that after 36 years of Ein Bentili meeting, “the Saharawi people renews its categorical and everlasting rejection to all the twisted solution or the average of solutions, and adheres to their options in freedom and independence, without surrender and retreat.”
The president indicated that the Intifada of independence “has sent painful and continued blows to the occupation, where it showed its brutal colonial reality and revealed its falsified claims on respecting human rights,” adding in this regard “it consolidated the unity of the Saharawis and their mobilization around their scared principles, under the leadership of the Polisario Front.”
“The acts of torture and brutal repression perpetuated by the Moroccan occupation authority against the Saharawi defenseless citizens, who commemorate the 1st anniversary of the establishment of the first tent in Gdeim Izik camp and the 36th anniversary of the National Unity in occupied cities of El Aaiun, Smara, Dakhla, Boujdur and others, reflects the hysteria that always infect the colonizers and dictators before their failure in the abolition of resistance.” said the president of the republic.
The president hailed the positions of the peoples and countries aspiring for freedom, in particular the positions of the Moroccan parties which supported the just struggle of the Saharawi people in conformity with the requirements of the international law, reiterating his call to the brotherly people of Morocco for the cooperation and good neighborly on the basis of clear foundation that respect will of peoples.
“We call on the UN to assume its full responsibilities concerning the decolonization of Western Sahara, guaranteeing the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence, protect the defenseless Saharawi civilians and to lift the security and military siege imposed over the Territory as to open it to the international journalists and observers,” added Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz.
He therefore recalled to the commitment of the Polisario Front to implement the provisions of the UN-AU Settlement Plan of 1991, confirming “this does not mean, in any case, to accept the status quo of Moroccan illegal military occupation of Saharawi soil and deprived them of their legitimate rights.” (SPS)
