Submitted on

Algiers, Oct 29, 2011 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, called Saturday in the Algerian capital for speedily imposing pressures and sanctions on the Moroccan government to stop thwarting the holding of a referendum on self-determination for the Saharawi people, in a speech to the participant of Algiers conference on peoples’ right to resistance: case of the Saharawi people.

“The Moroccan Kingdom has disclaimed from its international obligations,” he indicated, adding “the world is demanded to accelerate pressuring and sanctioning the Moroccan government in order to stop obstructing the referendum.”

SADR President recalled that the international community, which hastily protects civilians in other parts of the world, “should assume the same responsibility towards the gross human rights violations carried out by the Moroccan authorities since its military occupation to Western Sahara in Oct 31, 1975 as registered by international human rights organizations, including UN High Commission for Human Rights.” (SPS)
