Paris, Dec 18, 2011 (SPS) - The former UN SG assistant, M. Lakhdar Brahimi, said Saturday in Paris that the bias of France concerning the Western Sahara issue, does not, actually, serve the interest of Morocco.

“The United States does its best to remain neutral as to contribute positively in bringing a solution to the Western Sahara issue, while France has chosen biasing to Morocco, but actually, this does not serve the interest of Rabat,” the veteran diplomat noted during an allocution to a conference organized by France-Algeria Association held in the French National Assembly.

He further stressed that “the Western Sahara is an international issue dealt with at the level of the United Nation, where France and the US are permanent member countries, and are both close to Morocco.”
