Addis Ababa, Dec 19, 2011 (SPS) - The Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic has participated at the second ordinary session of the AU Conference of Mineral Resources Ministers taking place in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on Dec 12-16.
At the end of its session, the Conference adopted the declaration of Addis Ababa on building a sustainable future for the mining industry in Africa, which recognized the sovereign right of the Member States of the African Union to protect and save their natural resources from foreign looting and exploitation.
The Conference confirmed, in a report presented by the experts, the future vision for mining in Africa, which includes several recommendations include the concern of the Saharawi Republic on the systematic exploitation and looting of its resources by Moroccan state. (SPS)
