Luanda, Feb 4, 2012 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, has delivered a letter from the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, to his Angolan counterpart, Mr. José Eduardo dos Santos, during a meeting held Thursday in Luanda, capital of Angola, with vice-president of Angola.

In his statements to the Angolan press after the meeting, Mr. Ould Salek said that the meeting comes “within the framework of communication consultation and exchange of views in on a number of issues of common interest,” recalling on other hand to leading place occupied by Angola in Africa and the important role it plays to restore peace in the world and promote the building of the African Union.

“Angola is very important and leading country in Africa and in the world. It also plays a vital and serious role in regard to the promotion of African Union building,” asserted head of the Saharawi diplomacy.

He also indicated that he informed the Angolan leadership about the latest developments on the national cause, adding “there are international powers that usually intervene in the African issues to put obstacles in the path of peace process, as they did in Namibia and South Africa,” in an implicit reference to France.

It should be recalled that the President Mohamed Abdelaziz visited on July 2012 Angola in a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Angolan counterpart, where both parties focused on a number of axes of bilateral relations. (SPS)
