Slovenia supports a negotiated settlement to Western Sahara conflict

Liubliana, May, 2012 (SPS) - The Foreign Minister of Slovenia, Karl Erjavec, has reaffirmed his country's support for a negotiated solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, during a meeting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at the Slovenian Parliament held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 .


"Concerning Western Sahara, I have to say that Slovenia has not changed its position and supports the negotiation process on the future of Western Sahara, under the auspices of the United Nations," said Karl Erjavec.


On Renewal of the fisheries agreement being negotiated by the European Union and Morocco, the Foreign Minister explained that "Slovenia maintains the position that the agreement should be prepared so that also considers the rights of the Western Sahara."
