Smara (refugee camps), Sept 10, 2012 (SPS) - The Annual National Conference on Education, prelude to the school login scheduled mid current Sept, kicked off Sunday in the Wilaya of Smara, in the presence of members of the POLISARIO, ministers and representatives of the Saharawi educational family.
Opening the Conference, the Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar said that the National Conference on Education has become “a good tradition and important milestone in the contribution of guaranteeing the success of school years. It also constitutes a station to stop at the pros and cons of the past school year, as to take advantage of that in the success of forthcoming school season.”
“The Conference is an occasion to stop at the imperfections and identify the achievements have been attained in the sector, especially in terms of academic results, in addition to partial movement in education sector to fill some of the gaps recorded during the previous school years,” pointed out Ms. Mariam Salek Hmada, Minister of Education.
Morning session addressed some preoccupations and ideas raised by education family members, and discussed some documents such as administrative directory, school law, salary and 2012-2013 school opening plans, inside and abroad, as well as a ground presented by Education Ministry for debate.
Meanwhile, evening session allocated for examining the proposal submitted by the POLISARIO Political Branches’ Secretariat concerning the programme of cultural and political action directed to secretaries general of students’ branches.
Minister of Education declared, during the conference, that the official launch of 2012-2013 academic year will be on Sept 15. (SPS)
