Algiers, Spt 14, 2012 (SPS)- Humanitarian aids, including foodstuffs and school stationery, will be sent soon to Sahrawi people in the refugee camps, announced Thursday here Secretary General of Algerian Red Crescent (CRA), Lahcen Bouchakour.
Speaking during a coordination meeting for assessing the situation in Sahrawi refugee camps, Bouchakour underlined that these aids comprise 100 portable computers donated by the Canadian firm "Dassault Maghreb" to the pupils in the refugee camps.
These humanitarian aids coincide with the new school year in these camps, he said, adding that the CRA has spared no effort to support the Sahrawi people since 37 years.
The meeting, initiated by the Algerian Committee of Solidarity with Sahrawi People, was attended by representatives of the CRA, the Sahrawi Red Crescent, and also of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and the International Red Crescent.
For his part, the president of the Algerian Committee of Solidarity with Sahrawi People, Mahrez Lamari said that these aids are part of the support of the "right of Sahrawi children to knowledge and education and for continuing to send humanitarian aids to the Sahrawi refugee camps after the decline of international aids because of the global economic crisis."
