President of Republic received by Irish counterpart

Dublin, Oct 24, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of Frente Polisario , Mohamed Abdelaziz was received Wednesday by his Irish counterpart, Michael D. Higgins, according to a source close to the presidential delegation.

 

President D. Higgins offered welcoming ceremony in honor of  his Saharawi counterpart in which he expressed joy for having a Saharawi delegation in Ireland.

 

During the meeting, President Mohamed Abdelaziz informed  President Higgins of the latest developments of the Saharawi cause, mainly the human rights situation in the occupied territories and military trial against Saharawi political prisoners “group of  Gdem Izik”, which  the Moroccan authorities of occupation has  postponed today.

 

President Mohamed Abdelaziz, arrived Tuesday evening in Dublin on a special visit to Ireland officially starts Wednesday.

 

According to the visit programme, the President will hold talks with senior Irish officials, political parties and trade unions, in addition he will visit some institutions.

 

The President is accompanied by an important delegation composed of the Minister Delegate for Europe Mr. Mohamed Sidati, Secretary General of Saharawi Women Union Ms. Fatma Al-Mehdi, Counselor to the Presidency of Republic Mr. Abdati Breika, and POLISARIO Representative to Ireland Mr. Salek Sgeir as well as his deputy Fadli Abhaida.
