SADR takes part at joint African activities of Energy Ministers

Addis Ababa, Nov 17, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) participated at the joint African activities of the AU Conference of Energy Ministers of Africa (CEMA), All-Africa Energy Week (AAEW) and African Investment Forum that took place at African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.


The SADR was represented by a delegation led by the Minister of Transport Mr. Babia Shiaa.


The activities were held under the theme “renewable energy for sustainable development: from potential to infrastructure and services”.


The four-day activities focused on the renewable energy for sustainable development, infrastructure, employment of the renewable energy resources, the strategy to promote the green investment plan and innovative financing, partnership between the public and private sectors and reforming the energy sector, partnership for a shared vision, as well as the development of renewable energy in Africa.


On the other hand, the consultations on investment and business in Africa with economic partners were launched in the presence of many international organizations such as African Bank, Economic Commission for Africa, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), European Union and South Korea.
