President in Accra for swearing-in ceremony of Ghanaian counterpart

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Jan 6, 2012 (SPS) - At an official invitation by the Ghanaian government, the President of the Republic and Secretary General of the POLISARIO Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz arrived Sunday evening in the Ghanaian capital, Accra, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect Mr. John Dramani Mahama, according to a statement issued by SADR Presidency.


The President is accompanied by an important delegation includes the Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, Minister of Vocational Training, Individuals and Public Service Ms. Khira Bullahi, Secretary General of Women Union Ms. Fatma Al-Mehdi, Minister Delegate for Africa Mr. Hamdi Abbaih, Advisor to the Presidency Mr. Abdati Breika, Director of Protocol at SADR Presidency Mr. Alwa Bani and Ambassador in Accra Mr. Mahjub Sidina.


The President Mohamed Abdelaziz will, along with several heads of state and governments as well as foreign delegations, attend the inauguration of Ghanaian President, who was elected on 7 Dec 2012.


The visit is the second of its kind, after the one paid last August by the President of the Republic where he took part at the funeral ceremony of the late President of Ghana His Excellency Mr. John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.


The Republic of Ghana has recognized the Saharawi Republic since 24 August 1979, and establishes diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level with it ever since.


These relations strengthened by the opening of the Saharawi Embassy in Accra on September 2011. (SPS)
