Association for the Protection of Sahrawi prisoners in Moroccan prisons deplores Sahrawi detainee’s torture

Aiun (the occupied territories) June 7, 2013 (SPS) - The Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners in Moroccan prisons’, has deplored in the strongest terms what Sahrawi prisoners are exposed to, of torture and persecution, inside Moroccan prisons, in particular the disastrous situation of Sahrawi prisoners at Moroccan Ait Melloul prison, according to a statement issued today by the Association

 

«The Sahrawi detainees at Ait Melloul prison are living disastrous conditions as a  result of prison’s administration inhuman treatment  with them. they are exposed, almost daily, to various kinds of psychological and physical torture and insults and verbal abuse and tamperingtheir private staff as well as illegal s Inspection and racism »  the statement says

 

in its statement, The  Association urged “the need for opening a fair and impartial investigation on the psychological and physical torture practiced by the prison administration against the prisoners and following everyone proven to be involve in the incidents.

 

The statement also appealed to all conscience and international organizations to practice pressure on the Moroccan state for the immediate release of all Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons. (SPS)
