Jalisco, Guadalajara (Mexico), Sept 2, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi Representative in Mexico Mr. Ahmed Mulay Ali paid a visit to the Municipal State of Jalisco, Mexico, in the period between 28 until 31 August 2013, where he was received by a number of distinguished political figures, according to SADR embassy.
The Saharawi diplomat received by the Alderman of the Municipality of Guadalajara Mr. Salvador Caro Cabrera, the State Secretary for Infrastructure, Engineer Ramiro Hernández García, along with the majority of the honorable aldermen in the capital of Jalisco.
He was also received at the Congress of the State of Jalisco by the parliamentarians Mr. Clemente Castañeda, Mr. Miguel Castro Reynoso and Gildardo Guerrero Torres, in addition to the coordinators of the Citizens’ Movement (Spanish: Movimiento Ciudadano), Institutional Revolutionary Party (Spanish: Partido Revolucionario Institucional, PRI) and National Action Party (Spanish: Partido Acción Nacional, PAN).
During these meetings, the Saharawi ambassador informed his interlocutors about the status of the Moroccan-Saharawi conflict.
Moreover, Mr. Ahmed Mulay Ali was received by Mr. Hugo Luna, State Coordinator of the Citizens’ Movemenet in Jalisco, accompanied by Ms. Verónica Delgadillo, local deputy, Salvador Caro, Alderman of Guadalajara, Mr. Enrique Ibarra, President of the Council of Citizens’ Movement, and Mr. Esteban Garaiz, member of Citizens’ Alliance.
During this meeting, representatives of Citizens’ Movement expressed solidarity with the Saharawi people, addressing various issues including the strengthening of cultural exchanges between the two peoples.
SADR ambassador also took part at the 3rd Congress of “La Mujer para la Mujer” (Women for Women), where he stressed the role played by Saharawi woman, especially in the occupied territories.
He also presented a lecture at the Tecnológico de Monterrey University, Campus Guadalajara, on the current situation in Western Sahara. (SPS)
