ALGIERS, December 23, 2013 (SPS)- Human rights violations and atrocities committed against the Sahrawi people in the occupied territories as well as the struggle for the right to self-determination were the main issues raised, Saturday in Algiers, by the documentary "On the other side of the wall, the natives of Western Sahara."

Directed by French Denis Vericel and produced by the Association of the Friends of the Saharawi People, this documentary film was screened as part of the official competition of the 4th International Film Festival of Algiers (FICA) devoted to the committed film.

The documentary, which relates the history of the colonization of Western Sahara, comprises testimonies of human rights and Polisario Front activists, collected abroad by the filmmaker.

The testimonies show particularly the massive violations of Sahrawi people’s human rights, the violence and the atrocities as well as abductions.

The illegal plundering of fisheries and mining resources of Western Sahara by Morocco is also reported in this documentary. (SPS)
