Submitted on

Shaheed El Hafed (Sahrawi refugee camps), December 26, 2013 (SPS) - The National Secretariat demanded the acceleration of the organization of the referendum, renewing the willingness of the POLISARIO Front to cooperate with the United Nations for the decolonization of Western Sahara, in a final communiqué following its seventh ordinary session, held Wednesday, chaired by Mohamed Abdelaziz, president of the republic and secretary general of the POLISARIO Front.

The National Secretariat of the POLISARIO Front Condemned the looting of Sahrawi natural resources, stressing that the EU-Morocco fishing agreement constitutes a "shameful" contribution to the robbery of the wealth of a defenseless people under occupation, which requires reconsidering it in line with the founding principles of the European Union and respect for international law and human rights in Western Sahara.

The National Secretariat condemned the escalation of gross violations committed by the Moroccan state of occupation against the defenseless Saharawi civilians in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and southern Morocco, stressing the need for the release of the detainees of Gdeim Izik camp, who have been subjected to unfair Moroccan military trial, and all the Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons, and the dismantling of the Moroccan military wall, which is a "crime" against humanity.

The seventh session of the National Secretariat of the POLISARIO Front discussed the current preparations for the eighth congress of Sahrawi youth, highlighting the essential role played by young people, at present and in the future,  in the battle of liberation and construction. (SPS)
