El Salvador supports Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence (Parliament Speaker)

San Salvador (El Salvador) June 1, 2014 (SPS) - The Speaker of the Parliament of El Salvador, Mr. Sigfrido Reyes, has reiterated the position of his country in support of the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence, expressing honour to receive President of Republic Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz.  

 

 During a meeting Saturday with President Mohamed Abdelaziz at the Parliament headquarters, El Salvador parliament speaker emphasized that El Salvador has always supporte the struggle of the Saharawi people for decolonization and self-determination in line with the Charter resolutions of the United Nations, highlighting the “firm” relations between the Polisario Front and the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front.  

 

The Speaker of the Parliament of El Salvador also expressed gratitude and appreciation for the visit of the President of the Republic Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz and the delegation accompanying him.

 

President of the Republic arrived Friday in San Salvador, El Salvador, at an official invitation from the current President of El Salvador, Mr. Mauricio Funes, to attend the investiture ceremony of the new president-elect, Mr. Salvador Sanchez Ceren, along with dozens of world heads of State and Government and delegations. 

 

The President of the Republic is accompanied by a delegation comprising Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Salek, Minister of Vocational Training, individuals and publicfunction Khira Bellahi, Adviser to the Presidency Abdati Brieka, and Saharawi Ambassador to El Salvador Salama Mohammed Hennan.
