Colombian senator asks government to energize bilateral relations with SADR

Smara (refugee camps), June 21, 2014 (SPS) - Member of the Colombian Senator Mr. Jorge Enrique Robledo has asked the government of his country to revive the bilateral relations with the Saharawi Republic (SADR).


In a reception in honour of the Colombian Senate's delegation, which visits the Saharawi refugee camps, Mr. Robledo, also spokesman of the Colombian Left Alliance Party, urged his country's government to strengthen relations with SADR so to serve the interests of both brotherly peoples.


He also voiced support to the Saharawi people's struggle, calling for allowing them to exercise their right to self-determination and independence.


On May7th, the Colombian Senate unanimously adopted a motion, presented by the afro-mentioned senators, urging government to energize bilateral relations with the SADR.


They, therefore, called on Colombia government to plead for the respect of human rights of the Saharawi people. (SPS)
