El Aaiun (occupied territories), July 4, 2014 (SPS) - The Saharawi journalist Mahmud El-Haissan, member of the Sahrawi TV (TV-RASD) team in occupied El Aaiun, arrested today, Friday, by Moroccan occupying police, said a right source from the city.

According to the source, six cars belonging to Moroccan police kidnapped the Saharawi journalist Mahmoud El-Haissan from outside of his house in Lahcheicha district in the occupied city of El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, in a new provocative move to deter Saharawi journalists from exposing the reality of human rights in occupied Western Sahara.

The move comes in the margin of a campaign of arrests initiated by Moroccan occupying authorities during the holy month of Ramadan to prevent any right or political activities from taking place.

Moroccan authorities, in this regard, attacked several gatherings by Saharawi citizens, last of which a gathering held on the occasion of the death of the late Mahfud Al Beiba. (SPS)
