Saharawi community in Belgium commemorates the 39th anniversary of national unity

Belgium, October 12, 2014 (SPS) - Saharawi community in Belgium commemorated Saturday evening the 39th anniversary of national unity, in the presence of the Secretary General of Saharawi Women’s Union Ms. Fatma El Mehdi, and the representative of Polisario Front in Belgium Mr. Mohamed Ali Zerwali.

 


By the way, Saharawi community in Belgium discussed variety topics concerning the national cause, and how can they play a useful role in its favor.

 


It also expressed its solidarity with the family of the martyr Hassana EL Ouali, demanding to open fair, impartial and independent investigation to reveal the truth about the circumstances of his death, and then punish those who are responsible.

 


In a final statement, the Saharawi community called on the UN to take a “firm stance” to protect Saharawi civilians from the brutality of Moroccan occupying forces, and to intervene urgently to release all Saharawi political prisoners languishing in Moroccan jails.

 


The statement also drew attention to Moroccan flagrant violation of international law, and the systematic blundering of the Saharawi natural resources, demanding to stop it immediately, besides stopping all the activities of foreign companies such as Kosmos Energy and Carin Energy, which are intending to direct drilling operation for the extraction of oil during the next few weeks.
