Saharawi people celebrates 39th anniversary of National Unity

Shaheed Elhafed (Refugee Camps), October 12, 2014 (SPS) - The Saharawi people celebrated Sunday the 39th anniversary of declaration of the National Unity, October 12, 1975 in Ain Bentili, coincides this year with the fourth anniversary of the epic of the protest camp of Gdeim Izik.

 

Several festivities and activities were organized in the Saharawi refugee camps, the occupied territories of Western Sahara and the Saharawi community abroad on this occasion.

 

Gatherings took place in different Wilayas in which speakers cited this historic station of the struggle of the Saharawi people for self-determination and independence.

 

It was a turning point in the struggle of the Saharawi people which suffered from ignorance, division and tribalism as a result of Spanish colonialism. From that day the Sahrawi people decided to unite around the goals of its sole and legitimate representative, the Polisario Front, for the Liberation of Western Sahara and establishment of a state for all Sahrawis, it should be recalled.
