Start of V academic days on Western Sahara conflict in Baleares

Mallorca (Spain), October 25, 2014 (SPS) – The V academic days on the conflict in Western Sahara began Friday in the Balearic Islands, Spain, October 24-25, at the auditorium of the University building Sa Riera.

 

The academic days on conflict in Western Sahara were organized by the Friends of the Saharawi people of in the islands and covered cover topics such as the current situation of the Saharawi people, the peace process, the prospect of a just and lasting solution to the Sahrawi issue and the responsibility of the United Nations towards the Saharawi people and their right to self-determination.

 

The event was attended by a Saharawidelegation headed by member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Minister Delegate for Europe, Mohamed Sidati, accompanied by the Representative of the Polisario Front in the Balearic Islands, Mohamed Mustafa Tleimide, a representation of the National Union of Saharawi Women (NUSW) and a delegation from the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

 

It should be recalled that these days are traditionally held since 2008 by the Association of Friends of the Saharawi people in the Balearic Islands. (SPS)
