Shaheed Elhafed (Refugee Camps), December 19, 2014 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, received Friday the honorary doctor degree in Political sciences from the Pro Deo University of the Nightly Order of Malta, based in New York.
The honorary doctorate was handed over to the President of the Republic by a member of the university council, as recognition of the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people, condemnation of the illegal Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara and to assert the support of the academics and intellectuals throughout the world to the cause of the Saharawi people.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic emphasized that it had been great honor for the Sahrawi people to obtain these outstanding recognition and appreciation as a result of their resistance and sacrifices in order to achieve the ideals of freedom, self-determination, independence and respect for human rights and international law in Western Sahara.
