Council of Ministers renews rejection of Morocco’s looting of Saharawi wealth

Submitted on

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Feb 2, 2015 (SPS) - The Council of Ministers on Tuesday reiterated rejection of the Saharawi people to the Moroccan looting of Western Sahara natural resources, denouncing the drilling operations being carried out by the U.S. company Kosmos Energy off the territory’s coasts.

Chaired by the President of the Republic Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, the Council also said that the holding of Crans Montana Forum 2015 in the occupied city of Dajla will constitute a “blatant violation” of international law and “dishonorable contribution” encouraging the Moroccan occupying state to go forward in its illegal occupation.

Describing this as a violation of human rights, the Council added that it would endanger peace and security in the region.

It, moreover, deplored the Moroccan expansionist policy at the expense of neighbouring countries, denouncing Morocco’s attempts to proliferate drugs, which is closely linked to the creation and funding of the organized-crime gangs and terrorist groups. (SPS)
