Western Sahara: Algeria, Kenya reaffirm support for UN efforts

Algiers, February 27, 2015 (SPS)-Algeria and Kenya reaffirmed their support for the efforts of United Nation to reach a political solution, which provides for the self-determination of the People of Western Sahara, stressed a joint communiqué released Thursday after President Kenyatta's state visit to Algeria at the invitation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

 

"On Western Sahara, the two Heads of State reaffirmed their support for the efforts of the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and his personal Envoy Christopher Ross, aiming at finding a mutually acceptable political solution, providing for the self-determination of the People of Western Sahara, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly," the same source said.

 

"In this regard, their reiterated their solidarity with the people of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic in their efforts aimed at fulfilling their national potential," the communiqué stated. (SPS)
