Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), March 17, 2015 (SPS) - The Brazilian filmmaker of Korean descent, Iara Lee, has produced a new film under the title: “Life Is Waiting: Referendum and Resistance in Western Sahara” chronicling the everyday violence suffered by the Saharawi people under Moroccan occupation.

By interviewing several Saharawi activists of human rights and people from the Saharawi refugee camps, director Lee examines the broken promises for the referendum to take place in Western Sahara, and highlights the lessons learnt from the Saharawi non-violence resistance.

It also sheds light on the Morocco’s heinous practices against the Saharawi people, of which arrests, torture and disappearances among many others. (SPS)
