Johannesburg, May 6, 2015 (SPS) - A delegation of the Saharawi Students Union (UESARIO) takes part at a partnership seminar organized by the Danish ONG “Afrika Kontakt” on financial and administrative management of associations, kicked off Monday in Johannesburg, South Africa, in the presence of civil society organizations from various African countries.

The seminar seeks to create a common ground for Afrika Kontakt partners, present at the meeting, on financial and administrative management in the aim to achieve compatibility in the projects.

During the presentation of the participating organizations, UESARIO International Secretary Jalihenna Mohamed updated the presence about the work and structure of the Saharawi students organization, highlighting that its main goal is still that of continuing the fight to get met the wishes and expectations of the Saharawi people in freedom and independence.

Addressing African participants in particular, the UESARIO member recalled that Western Sahara remains Africa’s last colony, adding “the Saharawi people have been waiting for nearly 40 years to enjoy their right to self-determination, like all other African countries, once subject to occupation.” (SPS)
