Saharawi delegation condemn preventing Sahrawi activist Anasiri from attending UNHRC 29th Session

Geneva, 21 June 2015 (SPS) - The Saharawi delegation participating in the 29th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, condemned preventing the Sahrawi activist Hamad Anasiri by the Moroccan occupation authorities from attendlng this session, calling for an investigation into his case.

 

During ameeting on the sidelines of the NGOs workshop, the Saharawi delegation informed the Chairman of UN Human Rights Council, Joachim Rucker, about the situation of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and the ban against Hamad Annassiri despite his visa to attend the 29th Session.

 

 Mr.Rucker expressed disappointment regarding the case of Mr. Anasiri and commitment to investigate and take appropriate action.

 

The Saharawi delegationattended several workshops in which they unveiled the inhuman practices and violations committed against the Saharawi people in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, it should be recalled. (SPS)
