Submitted on

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), July 15, 2015 (SPS) - The national campaign “No to Plunder of Natural Resources of Western Sahara” launched a campaign on social media sites against the EU-Moroccan Fisheries Agreement, now turns its second year of signing to reach the Saharawi people's rejection of such illegal activities and to shed light on this injustice to make media pressure on Morocco.

The mentioned agreement has entered into force on this day last year after the European Parliament ratified it in 2013, the Polisario Front, the sole legitimate representative of the Saharawi people has rejected it at the time as well as several European countries.

The Polisario Front presented a recourse to the European Court of Justice signed on March 2014, recalling to the legal status of Western Sahara as a non-self-governing territory, whose partial occupation by Morocco constitutes a violation of the right of peoples to self-determination enshrined in the Articles 1 and 2 of the UN Charter and in the jurisprudence of the European Court of Justice.

At the popular level, the campaign is planning to organize a numerous protests in the Refugee Camps and the Occupied Territories against mentioned fisheries Agreement in the coming days and raise awareness at national and international level about the political, ethical and legal aspects of this agreement through the social media Facebook and Twitter.
