Shaheed El Hafed (refugee camps), November 29, 2015 (SPS) The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, reiterated Saturday the readiness of the Polisario Front to "cooperate with the United Nations and to engage in serious and direct negotiations to set a deadline to organize the self-determination referendum in Western Sahara ".

In a statement to the press after the meeting with the envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross, President of the Republic denounced the "intransigent policy adopted by Morocco in the conflict of Western Sahara, expressing "great concern" of the Saharawi party in this regard.

Describing the meeting as "frank and deep," President Mohamed Abdelaziz indicated that he asked the UN envoy to "inform the Secretary General of the discontent of the Saharawi party about the intransigent policy and failure to respect international law, adopted by the Moroccan government."

The President of the Republic pointed out that this policy is reflected by the visit of the King of Morocco in Western Sahara in early November, declarations of Moroccan officials in Rabat and refusal to respond to all calls for serious negotiations between the parties to the conflict (Morocco and the Polisario Front) ".

The Secretary General of the Polisario Front recalled that Morocco prohibits the monitoring of respect for human rights in occupied territories and ignores calls from the international community to stop the plundering of the natural resources of Western Sahara.

Christopher Ross arrived Friday in the Saharawi refugee camps and met with the Sahrawi negotiating delegation, in the framework of a regional tour aimed at reviving the process of peaceful settlement of the question of Western Sahara. (SPS)
