Rabat (Morocco) January 3, 2016 (SPS) – The administration of Sale prison 1 transferred on Wednesday, Saharawi political prisoner Mohamed Embarek Lefkir, among Gdeim Izik group, the Ibn Sina University Hospital in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

The Sahrawi political prisoner had spent about 25 days in the same hospital where he underwent a surgery, but medical negligence and delays in the completion of remedial action by the prison clinic and staff resulted in serious complications at the level of his knee.

Mohamed Embarek Lefkir was arrested in the occupied city of El Aaiun following the dismantlement of the camp of Gdeim Izik in November 2010, and spent almost eight months in detention before being deported and pursued by the military court in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, which issued in February 2013 harsh sentence of 25 years in prison against him.
