FM partakes in ministerial meeting in preparation of AU Summit

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Jan 25, 2016 (SPS) Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Salem Ould Salek arrived Sunday in Mekele, Ethiopia, to participate in a meeting of African Foreign Ministers in preparation of the African Union summit.

 

This three-day meeting is devoted to "implementing Agenda 2063 through the examination of different priority actions identified by the heads of State in terms of development of the continent, strengthening of African capacity and rationalization of working methods of the AU."

 

The meeting which will be chaired by the President of the African Union Commission, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, will address the various continental and national flagship projects reflecting the AU's efforts to achieve economic integration of the continent in the service of the African renaissance.

 

This meeting is also held to prepare for the 26th Ordinary Session of the AU Summit, held this year under the theme "human rights with a focus on women's rights". (SPS)
