Christopher Ross holds discussions with Sahrawi officials on UN Secretary General’s visit to region

Shahid Al Hafed (Refugee Camps)- The United Nations (UN) Secretary General’s special envoy to Western Sahara, Christopher Ross held discussions, Friday, in Shahid Al Hafed (Refugee Camps), with the members of the Sahrawi delegation to the negotiations on the visit of the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon to the region.

 


“The meeting essentially focused on the awaited visit of the United Nations’ Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, to the region,” said the head of the Sahrawi delegation to negotiations, member of the national secretariat, Khatri Addouh.

 


Khatri Addouh dubbed this visit “important” in this regard, that “it provides the opportunity to discuss with the UN Secretary General on the Sahrawi issue.”

 


“Ban Ki Moon’s visit should be held at the scheduled date, that is to say, beginning of March,” said the Sahrawi official.

 


Christopher Ross started, Friday, a tour in the region, which will lead him to Algiers, Rabat (Morocco) and Nouakchott (Mauritania). (SPS)
