Dakhla (occupied territories), 24 October 2024 (SPS) - The occupied city of Dakhla was the scene of popular demonstrations organized by Sahrawi activists on Wednesday, to denounce the "intolerable" situation caused by Moroccan occupation, according to reports from various media outlets.

Sahrawi activists carried out these protests to express their frustration in face of the worsening repression imposed by Moroccan colonization and to condemn increasingly difficult living conditions as well as the constant violations of human rights.

During these demonstrations, Sahrawi activists expressed their "firm determination to fight for the freedom and self-determination of Western Sahara," media sources report.

In response to the significance of the protests, Moroccan authorities reacted with "severe repression, deploying security forces and military forces to disperse the demonstrators," as reported by media outlet Mapmaghrebine.

However, "the determination of the Sahrawi people appears unshakeable, raising hopes for a future of freedom and justice," assures the media.
