New York (United Nations), September 29, 2018 (SPS) - Tanzania has reiterated its strong support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence, said its Foreign Minister, Augustine Mahiga, during his address before the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Mr. Mahiga renewed his country's strong support for the Saharawi people's right to self-determination and independence, pointing out that Morocco's accession to the African Union is a new turning point and a chance to find a final solution to the Sahrawi issue.
He also considered that the establishment of the African Union troika as an opportunity to support the efforts of the United Nations Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy to find a solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, reiterating his country's support for this mechanism, which he hoped would lead to a final solution to the Sahrawi issue.
