Shaheed El-Hafed, Nov. 19, 2016 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Brahim Ghali, began Friday a working and inspection visit to the northern sector of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (ALPS), according to a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.
"The visit is a part of the tour of the President of the Republic to the ALPS regions in accordance with the emergency plan adopted by the General Staff of the Saharawi army and to see closely the execution of the Program of action of the Ministry of Defense regarding the development of the Saharawi forces and the promotion of the capabilities of the SPLA forces and their arrangements to deal with all contingencies," said the statement.
During his visit to the regions of the northern sector, the Supreme Commander of the armed forces will discuss with the chiefs of these regions and the general staff the availability of the Saharawi army, especially after the Moroccan violations in the region of El Guergarat in Western Sahara).
