Dakhla refugee camp (Sahrawi Republic) 26 September 2024 (SPS) – Sahrawi Minister of Public Health, Salek Baba Hassana, welcomed a delegation from the Spanish organization Doctors of the World on Wednesday in the Dakhla refugee camo.
During the meeting, the minister provided the delegation with a comprehensive overview of the damage caused by heavy rainfall and flooding in the province, highlighting the urgent health needs that require the intervention and support of humanitarian organizations.
The minister accompanied the delegation on a field visit to inspect health institutions affected by the floods, where the delegation witnessed the extent of the damage to the healthcare infrastructure.
The visit also included the emergency field hospital, where the minister emphasized the need for additional medical supplies and equipment to strengthen the hospital's capacity to deliver essential healthcare services.
The visit by the Spanish Doctors of the World delegation comes at a critical time, as the Ministry of Public Health is working to address urgent health needs in cooperation with international organizations to alleviate the suffering of those affected and improve healthcare services in the region.
