Belmopan (Belize), September 22, 2024 (SPS) - As a representative of the Sahrawi Republic, Dr. Sidi Mohamed Omar, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, representative of the Polisario Front at the United Nations and coordinator with MINURSO, participated in the diplomatic events and activities organized in the Belizean capital Belmopan and the country's major cities to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Belize's independence.

On the sidelines of his participation in the celebrations, the Sahrawi diplomat had the opportunity to hold courtesy meetings with Belizean officials, including Mrs. Froyla Tzalam, the Governor General of Belize, to whom he conveyed a congratulatory message from the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, on the occasion of Independence Day, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Francis Fonseca, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to members of the diplomatic corps participating in the occasion.

The Republic of Belize has diplomatic relations with the Sahrawi Republic since November 18, 1986.
