Johannesburg (South Africa), September 17, 2024 (SPS) - Mr. Hamma Salama, a member of the National Secretariat, President of the Sahrawi National Council, arrived Sunday in Johannesburg to participate in the Conference of African Parliament Speakers, which will be held as part of the September session of the African Parliament, the legislative body of the African Union.
Accompanying the President of the National Council are Mr. Jamal Bendir Berhah, the Secretary-General of the National Council, and the representatives of the Sahrawi Republic in the African Parliament.
This session of the African Parliament is held under the African Union (AU) theme of the year 2024, “Educate an African Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Lifelong, Quality, and Relevant Learning in Africa.”
The agenda for this session includes meetings of the permanent committees and the Parliament's secretariat, a meeting of the sixth bureau of the institution, and a conference of African Parliament Speakers, in addition to closed meetings for women and youth, as well as a workshop on results-based management for all parliamentarians.
