New York (United States), 2 August 2024 (SPS) - The resolution of the Western Sahara conflict will be carried out “in line with the Security Council’s resolutions,” the spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric, underscored.
In a statement to the press on Tuesday in New York, Dujarric said that “the United Nations' efforts to resolve the conflict in Western Sahara will carry on in line with the Security Council’s resolutions.”
As a former Spanish colony, the Western Sahara has been registered since 1963 on the list of non-self-governing territories of the United Nations’ 4th Committee, known as the “Special Political and Decolonization Committee.
