Adelaide (Australia), June 05, 2024 (SPS) - A Sahrawi delegation is participating in the work of the Australian Council of Trade Unions conference held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, on 4th, 5th and 6th June.
The conference discusses the conditions of workers in Australia and addresses the main issues and challenges facing them. It also discusses ways to enhance international labor solidarity and support just causes.
On the sidelines of the conference activities, the Sahrawi delegation consisting of the Polisario Front Representative in Australia, Mohamed Fadel Kamal, and representative of the General Union of Workers of Saguia el Hamra and Río de Oro (UGTSARIO) Mr. Mohamed Meyara accompanied with members of the Solidarity Committee with the Sahrawi People, held several important meetings to raise awareness of the Sahrawi cause and the ongoing struggle of Sahrawi workers.
The Sahrawi delegation attended a luncheon held in honor of the participating international delegations, attended by officials of the Australian Trade Union Council. The Sahrawi delegation also attended several workshops held on the sidelines of the conference.
The conference will witness the organization of several workshops and meetings, where Mohamed Meyara is expected to give a lecture on the struggle of Sahrawi workers in general and their suffering under the Moroccan occupation in the occupied zones of Western Sahara.
