Shaheed El Hafed, April 07, 2024 (SPS) - The Council of Ministers denounced the announcement of the French government of its intention to participate in the plunder of Sahrawi natural resources, which reflects the French state's involvement in the aggression against the Sahrawi people since the military invasion of Western Sahara in 1975.
During its meeting on Sunday, the Council considered that the European Union is required to disengage from the illegal Moroccan occupation of territories belonging to the Sahrawi Republic and to halt the plundering of its resources in accordance with the rulings of the European Court of Justice.
At the same time, the Council commended the African Union and called on the continental organization to impose on the Moroccan occupier the respect for the provisions of the Union's Constitutive Act, especially the principle of the sanctity of recognized international borders and the prohibition of the acquisition of territory by force, and to resort to peaceful solutions to resolve disputes between member states.
