El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), April 21, 2014 (SPS) - The National Union of Sahrawi Women organized the Second International Conference in Support of Sahrawi Women Resistance, April 17-20, in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, with the participation of many women representing political social and cultural organizations, from different world continents.
The program of the Conference included meetings with various Sahrawi organizations and focused on introducing the gross violations of human rights experienced by the Saharawi people, especially the women through listening to testimonies by women who have been subjected to these violations.
The Conference came in the framework of the international campaign that aims to protect human rights in the Western Sahara and implementation of the decisions of the international conference held lately in Algeria in support of the right to self -determination of peoples "the case of the Sahrawi People" and the international conference in support of Sahrawi women's resistance held in the Sahrawi refugee camps and in Algeria in April 2013 , which culminated in the organization of the first international conference in support of Sahrawi women’s resistance in the occupied city of El Aaiun in June 2013 .
